Bruce Wayne, aka the Bat-Prince, is the bastard son of Martha Wayne, the previous queen of the Lands of El. Learning that his birth father was King Jor-El, he realised it made him the half-brother of Prince Kal-El and Princess Zala Jor-El.
One day Bruce and his guards were attacked while riding through Hobb Forest. The attacker, an outlaw calling himself the King's Bane, killed Bruce's guards but then dropped to one knee acknowledging Bruce as his king. Bane told Bruce that the Els were monsters and a Wayne should be king; promising to teach him how to kill monsters.
