Jawas were a communal, scavenger species native to the dry and inhospitable desert planet of Tatooine.
They spent most of their life devoted to traversing the deserts in search of any scrap metal, droid, or mechanical part left behind from millennia of star travel and technological advancement. All so they could clean it up, get it working again, and sell it on for profit.
Widely regarded throughout the wider galaxy as scavengers and thieves, they were often treated with disrespect and suspicion. Not a people to be ashamed of such things, they often accepted such sentiment with praise, delight, and pride.
This particular Jawa sold their wares to the former Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi, now living a quiet and obscure life on Tatooine.
